BMC Mayor Election: Thackeray’s Sena Attacks MNS; BJP Wins 10 of 11 Mayor Posts — What Will Their Allies Achieve?

Mumbai Mayor Election: After the Municipal Elections, the Names of the Mayors have been Announced. 

In response, the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) has strongly criticized the BJP.

In an  Editorial  the party stated that a harmful practice has spread in Maharashtra’s  politics where leaders contest elections on one party’s symbol and then switch sides even before the ink on the results dries. 

Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray had once suggested a harsh remedy for such defectors, saying they should be “publicly opposed and rejected.” 

While such measures may not fit within the strict limits of democracy and law, the party warned that strong action may now be necessary to protect democratic values.

The Thackeray faction expressed displeasure after several elected councillors, despite initially opposing the ruling party, later supported those in power for various reasons. 

The Party also openly criticized the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) over its decisions in the Kalyan-Dombivli region.

Civility

The Party said that every elected representative has an equal right to Government funds. 

However, it accused the BJP of degrading political culture, claiming that Devendra Fadnavis has become part of this decline.

It further remarked that since the BJP has secured 10 out of 11 mayor posts, it is clear what their associates and supporters are likely to achieve. 

Despite this, the Thackeray faction said it was showing political maturity and civility by Congratulating all Newly Elected Mayors.

On Allocation of Funds

The Shiv Sena also criticized certain ministers in Fadnavis’s cabinet who have openly stated that they distribute funds based on party symbols, saying they would not allocate even one rupee to candidates with the “Mashal” (torch) symbol.

The party said such people are dishonest and unfit for public office. 

It added that government funds do not come from personal businesses like petrol pumps in Kankavli, but from taxpayers’ money.

मुंबई मेयर चुनाव: नगर निगम चुनाव के बाद मेयरों के नामों की घोषणा कर दी गई है।

इसके जवाब में, शिवसेना (उद्धव बालासाहेब ठाकरे गुट) ने भाजपा की कड़ी आलोचना की है।

एक संपादकीय में, पार्टी ने कहा कि महाराष्ट्र की राजनीति में एक हानिकारक प्रथा फैल गई है, जहां नेता एक पार्टी के चिन्ह पर चुनाव लड़ते हैं और परिणाम घोषित होने से पहले ही पाला बदल लेते हैं।

शिवसेना के संस्थापक बालासाहेब ठाकरे ने एक बार ऐसे दलबदलुओं के लिए कठोर उपाय सुझाते हुए कहा था कि उनका "सार्वजनिक रूप से विरोध और बहिष्कार" किया जाना चाहिए।

हालांकि ऐसे उपाय लोकतंत्र और कानून की सख्त सीमाओं के भीतर नहीं आते, पार्टी ने चेतावनी दी कि लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों की रक्षा के लिए अब कड़ी कार्रवाई आवश्यक हो सकती है।

ठाकरे गुट ने इस बात पर नाराजगी व्यक्त की कि कई निर्वाचित पार्षदों ने, शुरू में सत्ताधारी पार्टी का विरोध करने के बावजूद, बाद में विभिन्न कारणों से सत्ता में मौजूद पार्टी का समर्थन किया।

 पार्टी ने कल्याण-डोम्बिवली क्षेत्र में महाराष्ट्र नवनिर्माण सेना (एमएनएस) के फैसलों की खुलेआम आलोचना की।

शिष्टता

पार्टी ने कहा कि प्रत्येक निर्वाचित प्रतिनिधि को सरकारी निधियों का समान अधिकार है।

हालांकि, उसने भाजपा पर राजनीतिक संस्कृति को गिराने का आरोप लगाया और दावा किया कि देवेंद्र फडणवीस इस गिरावट का हिस्सा बन गए हैं।

उसने आगे कहा कि चूंकि भाजपा ने 11 में से 10 महापौर पद हासिल कर लिए हैं, इससे स्पष्ट है कि उनके सहयोगी और समर्थक क्या हासिल करने वाले हैं।

इसके बावजूद, ठाकरे गुट ने सभी नवनिर्वाचित महापौरों को बधाई देकर राजनीतिक परिपक्वता और शिष्टता का परिचय दिया।

निधि आवंटन पर

शिव सेना ने फडणवीस के मंत्रिमंडल के कुछ मंत्रियों की भी आलोचना की, जिन्होंने खुलेआम कहा है कि वे पार्टी चिन्हों के आधार पर निधियों का वितरण करते हैं, और कहा कि वे "मशाल" चिन्ह वाले उम्मीदवारों को एक रुपया भी आवंटित नहीं करेंगे।

पार्टी ने कहा कि ऐसे लोग बेईमान और सार्वजनिक पद के लिए अयोग्य हैं।

 इसमें आगे कहा गया है कि सरकारी निधि कंकावली के पेट्रोल पंपों जैसे निजी व्यवसायों से नहीं, बल्कि करदाताओं के धन से आती है।

इसमें कहा गया है कि अलोकतांत्रिक तरीके से सार्वजनिक निधि का वितरण करना धन का दुरुपयोग है।
