Mahim Social Worker Farooque Dhala Appeals for Price Control and Strict Monitoring of Essential Commodities

Mumbai: Mahim-based Social Worker Farooque Dhala has Appealed to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, Maharashtra to intensify Price Control Measures and Strengthen local Monitoring of Essential Commodities in the City.

In his Appeal, Dhala urged the authorities to conduct regular inspections of markets, shops, and hawkers, and take strict action against those overcharging for daily necessities such as vegetables, milk, groceries, and other household items.

He also emphasized the need for coordination with ward offices and market inspectors to ensure effective enforcement.

Dhala further requested that the department actively monitor cases of black marketing and hoarding, especially in areas like Mahim West, and extend these measures across Mumbai.

He stated that controlling the prices of essential goods is crucial to protect citizens from unnecessary financial burden.

Supporting the appeal, local resident Zakir Motiwala highlighted the growing difficulties faced by common people due to rising prices.

“Mahim and nearby areas are facing  inflation troubling ordinary citizens.

Ration, vegetables, milk, electricity, and iftar items—everything is becoming expensive,” he said.

He further urged the authorities to take immediate steps by:

Maintaining strict control over prices of essential goods

Increasing local-level price checking and monitoring

Introducing relief measures for poor and middle-class families

Residents hope that timely intervention by the concerned departments will help curb price hikes and bring much-needed relief to the people of Mahim and other parts of Mumbai.

मुंबई: माहिम के सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता फारूक ढाला ने बृहन्मुंबई नगर निगम और महाराष्ट्र के खाद्य, नागरिक आपूर्ति एवं उपभोक्ता संरक्षण विभाग से शहर में आवश्यक वस्तुओं की कीमतों पर नियंत्रण के उपायों को तेज करने और स्थानीय निगरानी को मजबूत करने की अपील की है।

अपनी अपील में, ढाला ने अधिकारियों से बाजारों, दुकानों और फेरीवालों का नियमित निरीक्षण करने और सब्जियों, दूध, किराने का सामान और अन्य घरेलू सामान जैसी दैनिक आवश्यकताओं की अधिक कीमत वसूलने वालों के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई करने का आग्रह किया।

उन्होंने प्रभावी प्रवर्तन सुनिश्चित करने के लिए वार्ड कार्यालयों और बाजार निरीक्षकों के साथ समन्वय की आवश्यकता पर भी जोर दिया।

ढाला ने आगे अनुरोध किया कि विभाग कालाबाजारी और जमाखोरी के मामलों की सक्रिय रूप से निगरानी करे, विशेष रूप से माहिम पश्चिम जैसे क्षेत्रों में, और इन उपायों को पूरे मुंबई में लागू करे।

उन्होंने कहा कि नागरिकों को अनावश्यक वित्तीय बोझ से बचाने के लिए आवश्यक वस्तुओं की कीमतों को नियंत्रित करना अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है।

  इस अपील का समर्थन करते हुए, स्थानीय निवासी ज़ाकिर मोतीवाला ने बढ़ती कीमतों के कारण आम लोगों को हो रही कठिनाइयों पर प्रकाश डाला।

उन्होंने कहा, “माहीम और आसपास के इलाकों में महंगाई इतनी बढ़ गई है कि आम नागरिक परेशान हैं। राशन, सब्जियां, दूध, बिजली और इफ्तार का सामान—सब कुछ महंगा होता जा रहा है।”

उन्होंने अधिकारियों से तत्काल कदम उठाने का आग्रह किया:

आवश्यक वस्तुओं की कीमतों पर कड़ा नियंत्रण रखना

स्थानीय स्तर पर कीमतों की जांच और निगरानी बढ़ाना

गरीब और मध्यम वर्ग के परिवारों के लिए राहत उपाय शुरू करना

निवासियों को उम्मीद है कि संबंधित विभागों के समय पर हस्तक्षेप से महंगाई पर अंकुश लगेगा और माहीम और मुंबई के अन्य हिस्सों के लोगों को राहत मिलेगी।
