Free Medical OPD And Dispensary Launched At Mahim Juma Masjid On Friday

Mumbai, March 6: A Free OPD / Doctor Consultation Centre and Medical Dispensary has been started at Mahim Juma Masjid, located on Dargah Street in Mahim West, Mumbai.

The initiative aims to provide free medical consultation and medicines to people in need.

The dispensary will operate daily from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the mosque premises, making healthcare easily accessible to residents of the surrounding area.

Fahad Khalil Pathan, Managing Trustee of Mahim Juma Masjid, said that opening a free medical dispensary inside a mosque is a noble and permissible act.

He added that seeking medical treatment is encouraged in Islam, and such initiatives help serve the community in a meaningful way.

Mahim Social Worker Abdul Khaliq Shaikh, Who resides on Dargah Street, highlighted the importance of reviving the traditional role of mosques as community centers.

He Noted that during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), Mosques were not used only for prayers but also served as places where the poor were supported, delegations were received, and even the wounded were treated.

Mahim Shiv Sena Leader Nasir Phoolwala Said the dispensary would also help strengthen community bonds.

By addressing the health needs of worshippers and local residents, the mosque becomes an important pillar in the neighborhood’s daily life.

He added that when a mosque looks after the physical well-being of its members, it naturally encourages greater participation and attendance.

Abdul Khaliq Shaikh further Explained that if the dispensary continues to help people regularly, donors and organizers may receive ongoing spiritual reward, known as Sadaqah Jariyah, because the benefits reach people over a long period.

Fahad Khalil Pathan also Emphasized the practical benefits of the initiative, noting that early medical treatment can prevent minor illnesses from becoming serious.

Since Mosques are usually located within residential areas, people can easily access the dispensary for first aid and basic treatment, especially during emergencies.

मुंबई, 6 मार्च: मुंबई के माहिम पश्चिम में दरगाह स्ट्रीट स्थित माहिम जुमा मस्जिद में एक निःशुल्क ओपीडी/डॉक्टर परामर्श केंद्र और औषधालय शुरू किया गया है।

इस पहल का उद्देश्य जरूरतमंद लोगों को निःशुल्क चिकित्सा परामर्श और दवाइयां उपलब्ध कराना है।

औषधालय मस्जिद परिसर में प्रतिदिन सुबह 11:00 बजे से शाम 5:00 बजे तक संचालित होगा, जिससे आसपास के निवासियों के लिए स्वास्थ्य सेवा सुलभ हो जाएगी।

माहिम जुमा मस्जिद के प्रबंध न्यासी फहद खलील पठान ने कहा कि मस्जिद के अंदर निःशुल्क औषधालय खोलना एक नेक और जायज़ कार्य है।

उन्होंने आगे कहा कि इस्लाम में चिकित्सा उपचार को प्रोत्साहित किया जाता है, और ऐसी पहल समुदाय की सार्थक सेवा करने में सहायक होती हैं।

दरगाह स्ट्रीट में रहने वाले माहिम के सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता अब्दुल खालिक शेख ने सामुदायिक केंद्रों के रूप में मस्जिदों की पारंपरिक भूमिका को पुनर्जीवित करने के महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला।

 उन्होंने बताया कि पैगंबर मुहम्मद (ﷺ) के समय में मस्जिदें केवल नमाज़ के लिए ही नहीं, बल्कि गरीबों की मदद करने, प्रतिनिधिमंडलों का स्वागत करने और यहां तक ​​कि घायलों का इलाज करने के लिए भी इस्तेमाल होती थीं।

महीम शिवसेना नेता नासिर फूलवाला ने कहा कि यह औषधालय सामुदायिक संबंधों को मजबूत करने में भी सहायक होगा।

नमाज़ियों और स्थानीय निवासियों की स्वास्थ्य संबंधी ज़रूरतों को पूरा करके, मस्जिद मोहल्ले के दैनिक जीवन का एक महत्वपूर्ण स्तंभ बन जाती है।

उन्होंने आगे कहा कि जब कोई मस्जिद अपने सदस्यों के शारीरिक स्वास्थ्य का ध्यान रखती है, तो इससे स्वाभाविक रूप से अधिक भागीदारी और उपस्थिति को प्रोत्साहन मिलता है।

अब्दुल खालिक शेख ने आगे बताया कि यदि औषधालय नियमित रूप से लोगों की मदद करता रहता है, तो दानदाताओं और आयोजकों को निरंतर आध्यात्मिक सवाब, जिसे सदक़ा जारिया कहा जाता है, प्राप्त हो सकता है, क्योंकि इसका लाभ लंबे समय तक लोगों तक पहुंचता रहता है।

फहद खलील पठान ने भी इस पहल के व्यावहारिक लाभों पर ज़ोर देते हुए कहा कि शुरुआती चिकित्सा उपचार से छोटी-मोटी बीमारियों को गंभीर होने से रोका जा सकता है।

 मस्जिदें आमतौर पर आवासीय क्षेत्रों में स्थित होती हैं, इसलिए लोग प्राथमिक चिकित्सा और बुनियादी उपचार के लिए, विशेष रूप से आपातकालीन स्थितियों में, आसानी से औषधालय तक पहुँच सकते हैं।

उद्घाटन के अवसर पर ट्रस्टी हबीब फकीह साहब भी उपस्थित थे।
