It is requested that a large-scale illegal clothing and mobile phone market is set up every day from 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM on Maulana Azad Road, from Do Tanki Naka to Nal Bazaar Naka, which falls within the jurisdiction of JJ Marg Police Station Beat No. 3.
Stolen mobile phones are also openly sold in this market, and some local thugs—including Nasir, Afzal, and another individual—extort money illegally. These people forcibly collect money from shopkeepers and buyers in the name of "receipts." According to information:
₹1500 to ₹2000 are extorted from shopkeepers every month.
Traders who come to buy sarees and fabric are charged ₹400 to ₹500 per month.
Ordinary buyers are required to issue receipts of ₹200 to ₹250.
If people are found without receipts, they are beaten, their goods are snatched, and money is forcibly extorted.
This entire illegal activity is openly conducted in front of the police station, bit no 3 . creating an atmosphere of fear among the general public. Heavy traffic jams occur daily, causing immense inconvenience to schoolchildren, pedestrians, and local citizens. This market operates seven days a week, twelve months a year, and never closes.
Local residents suspect that such extensive illegal extortion and activities are impossible without protection. Hundreds to thousands of receipts are issued daily, and lakhs of rupees are illegally collected. Despite this, no concrete action is being taken.
Therefore, we humbly request:
Immediately remove this illegal market.
Strict legal action should be taken against those engaging in extortion.
Investigate the sale of stolen mobile phones and arrest those involved.
Regular police patrolling and surveillance should be increased in the area.
Ensure the safety of both citizens and businesses.
Please take immediate, strict action considering the seriousness of the matter.
